The company's palaka check shirts and blouses, while simply made, were durable and easy to move in, quickly gaining popularity and becoming a representative style of palaka.

Founded in 1922 by Yasuda Kayoji, born in Japan, Union Supply expanded its business by providing high-quality, affordable workwear to people who had moved from Japan to Hawaii.
