Based on a vintage piece made in the mid-to-late 1950s. The pockets and cuffs are piped with the same rayon fabric as the body, adding a design accent.
The body is made of a lightweight plain weave 100% rayon fabric. The buttons are also 14mm four-hole buttons, as seen on bowling shirts from the ’50s. It is presumed to have been ordered by the bowling team of a general construction company, and the luxurious chain embroidery with a voluminous feel using lustrous rayon thread enhances the team’s sense of camaraderie.

The history of Hawaiian workwear, which can be considered the origin of the Aloha shirt, began when Japanese immigrants crossed the ocean and started living in Hawaii. The work they did there required durable workwear, rather than the traditional Japanese clothing they had brought from Japan. In 1922, Yasuda Kayoji, born in Japan, founded Union Supply, successfully expanding its business by providing high-quality workwear. The company's palaka check shirts and blouses, while simply made, were durable and easy to move in, quickly gaining popularity and becoming a representative style of palaka.

Founded in 1922 by Yasuda Kayoji, born in Japan, Union Supply expanded its business by providing high-quality, affordable workwear to people who had moved from Japan to Hawaii. While primarily a clothing manufacturer, the company also acted as a distributor, importing fabrics and other materials from Japan.

This is a classic wear house body knitted on an old-fashioned low gauge knitting machine that is said to be "rare than a loop knitting machine". This fabric is knitted with #12 uneven yarn to create a unique shadow, and is called a shadow border, and although it is plain, it has a slight horizontal unevenness.
