It has the unique characteristics of an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, combining the softness of a loopwheel knitting machine with the firmness of a sinker knitting machine. It has been a staple at BARNS OUTFITTERS for many years.

Buzz Rickson’s Lot BR14975 / WILLIAM GIBSON Black Combat Tropical
The Jungle Fatigue is a field uniform designed for subtropical regions. The first model, with buttons exposed from the pocket flaps, originally used cotton poplin, but this one uses cotton nylon, which is lightweight and has superior strength. The BLACK MA-1 was first produced by Buzz Rickson's to commemorate the brand's 10th anniversary.
William Gibson
's novel "Pattern Recognition," the words "Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1" are inscribed on the jacket worn by the protagonist. The actual Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1 jumped out of that novel and was born. The standard colour for the MA-1, which was officially adopted by the US Air Force in the 1950s, was originally sage green, but there were no other BLACK MA-1s on the market that were black and used military-spec parts and materials based on mil-spec standards. As a result, it was well-received and became a hot topic among users who appreciate authenticity in the market. Even if each material is specified as black, they will dye differently depending on the material. When these are assembled into a single jacket, subtle differences in color will appear, clearly showing how many different materials the flight jacket is made of.
