“A Special item: Marilyn Monroe”
One of the most iconic features of vintage American T-shirts is the “Tubular Body” construction. Since this method eliminates the need for side seams, it was the gold standard for mass production in the USA during the mid-20th century.
However, as times changed and the demand for more varied sizing grew, side-seam construction eventually became the industry norm.
To faithfully recreate the authentic spirit of that era, Barns developed their TUBE T-Shirt series.
Crafted from 16-count BD (Open-End) yarn, these shirts feature a seamless tubular body and a distinctive faded texture achieved through pigment dyeing.
This season, the series has been renewed with a new silhouette: “Roomy.”
By utilizing the largest diameter tubular knitting machines currently operational in Japan, we’ve created a relaxed, effortless fit that honors traditional craftsmanship while meeting modern styling needs. This special-edition piece features Marilyn Monroe, the legendary actress who captivated the world throughout the 1950s and 60s. For BARNS OUTFITTERS, this represents a rare and significant departure—a “Photo Tee” collection that stands out as a unique highlight in the brand’s history.

This shirt is a representative of the BARNS OUTFITTERS brand, with attention to detail in all processes of sewing, dyeing, and processing. A well-balanced piece that is not too tight, made of oxford fabric and product-dyed. It is a versatile item that can be worn as an inner layer, as a single piece, or as a layered style with the front open.
The small, wide-spread collar is cut three-dimensionally to create a piece that is both casual and dress-like, and can be used for any occasion.
The product washing process gives it softness while retaining its firmness and a unique puckering effect, making it a piece that is not too formal.
Original decorative buttons with BARNS logo are placed on the breast pocket.
Normally, a triangular gusset is applied from the backside, but a base gusset is used on the front side for accentuation. The smallest details are also arranged in a way that is typical of BARNS OUTFITTERS.

Buzz Rickson’s Lot BR35857 / White Chambray SS Work Shirt
The chambray shirt, adopted by the U.S. Navy, is a long-lasting utility shirt that has been issued continuously from the 1930s to the present day. This chambray shirt is a reproduction of the shirt adopted in the 1950s. While the style and specifications have changed over time, the shirts adopted from the beginning until the 1950s featured gussets on both sides of the hem, a stand collar, and a placket—the specifications of the good old days. The chambray fabric from this era has a loose tension, and repeated washing causes it to shrink, resulting in a unique texture. The white chambray is an original design by Buzz Rickson's.

Dubble Works Lot 37001 Heavy Weight Short Sleeve Tee – Black
This is a "STAND WHEELER" heavy weight series, which has been well received every season.
Most heavy weight jerseys are made with medium-thick yarn and knitted quite tightly, which can make them feel stiff and rough against the skin. However, by knitting tightly with thick No.8 yarn, there is little room in stitches, resulting in a moderate stretch.
Although the thick yarn gives a rugged look, it still feels soft against the skin.

Tailor Toyo Lot TT15520 / 1950s Souvenir Jacket KOSHO & CO Special Edition DRAGON & LANDSCAPE × DRAGON
In honor of the zodiac sign of 2024, the dragon, the Year of the Dragon collection is a reproduction of a dragon pattern selected from a large number of vintage skajans. This time, as a special edition, Tailor Toyo reprint the "Printed Sukajan", which was only made for a short period of time from the late 1940's to the early 1950's.
The surface is embroidered with two dragons glaring at each other with Mt. Fuji in between. The design is not filled with embroidery, but the black acetate fabric used as the base is used effectively to make the dragon drawn with delicately colored threads stand out. When we look into the materials from the time, we find that it was created by a skilled Japanese embroidery craftsman, and it has a dignified finish that makes it look like a Japanese painting. The original vintage specifications have been reproduced, including the dragon embroidery on the chest, which is larger than usual, and the three lines on the sleeves.
The reversible side has a printed Japan map pattern. Instead of printing using modern machines, printing is done by hand, in which a plate is created one color at a time, and then the plates are printed over and over again by hand. This method requires time, effort, and advanced technology, so it was not possible to print at the time. Very few. Moreover, this design, which features a map of Japan along with castles and landscapes, is especially rare among printed Skajan jackets, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is impossible to obtain on the vintage market. The dragon on the chest is drawn in a size that would be impossible to find on an embroidered Sukajan jacket, and due to its powerful design and vintage rarity, it has been reprinted as a special edition for the Year of the Dragon.
“KOSHO & CO.” SPECIAL EDITION
This special edition is a reproduction of carefully selected masterpieces from Taylor Toyo's collection with great attention to detail. In addition to the detailed designs drawn with horizontal embroidery, the acetate fabric is adjusted to create a vintage-like finish, and the wool ribs are knitted one by one using an old-fashioned flat knitting machine. For the reversible zippers, we restarted the fastening machines that were used more than 50 years ago and recreated the same hand-bending ones that were used back then. Using the label of Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Taylor Toyo, the finish is reminiscent of the heyday of vintage skajans.
