The history of Hawaiian workwear, which can be said to be the origin of the Aloha shirt, began when Japanese immigrants crossed the ocean and began living in Hawaii. Local work required durable workwear, not the traditional Japanese clothing brought from Japan. When Japanese-born Yasuda Kayoji founded Union Supply in 1922, he expanded his business by successfully providing high-quality workwear. The 10oz. Palaka check shirts and blouses made by the company were simple in design, yet durable and easy to move in, and quickly became popular and became a representative form of Palaka.
Complete Series of the Reproduction “UNION SUPPLY”
Union Supply, founded by Japanese-born Yasuda Kayoji in 1922, expanded its business by providing high-quality, affordable workwear to people who immigrated from Japan to Hawaii. While the company was a clothing manufacturer, it also played the role of a distributor importing fabrics from Japan.

Made of the 9oz. black covert. The black colour of sewing thread make the jacket look elegant.
The tuck buttons on the body are a detail that boasts high strength that is unique to workwear. There is a hole next to the breast pocket to fasten a pocket watch chain. The pockets are made with ultra-fine double-sided welts that require advanced technology, and are lined with selvedge. There is also an inside pocket on the right chest.

Sugar Cane & Co. Lot SC41823 / 11oz Hickory Stripe Work Pants
Work pants in a robust 11oz. hickory stripe fabric woven on primitive shuttle looms. The navy part in the stripe pattern is rope-dyed indigo, which fades like denim over time.
The button fly on the front uses a black-painted swinging donut button. Sewing in major areas such as the crotch is made with 3-needle stitching. The right front pocket is also equipped with a coin pocket. The left side has a hammer loop for hanging the hammer, and the right side has a rule and pliers pocket for storing pliers. A union ticket attached to the inside of the pocket. The wear produced by the Union, an American labor union, is called Union Made, and this union ticket was sewn on the product even at that time.
A model with a height of 175 cm and a weight of 65 kg wears a waist of 32 inches.
All sizes come in 32" inseam.

Sugar Cane & Co. Lot SC12962 / 14.25oz. Denim Jacket 1962 Model
A renewed version of Sugar Cane ’s early 60s denim jacket, known as the 3rd type. The pattern was carefully adjusted for the length to be about 1” longer than the previous model, SC11962, and for a better fit around the neck and shoulders. The red selvage can be seen on the reverse side of the front placket.

Work pants made of Wabash fabric loved by railroaders in those days. Dot-stripe pattern is discharge printed on 9oz indigo-dyed fabric. The style is based on the 1930s vintage, with the wider silhouette.

Sugar Cane & Co. Lot SC02320 / Garrison Belt (Black)
"Garrison Belt" that SugarCane has been making as a standard for over 20 years. The leather used is tanned with carefully selected North American cowhide extracted from mimosa bark over a period of more than a month, and the dyeing is finished with an aniline dye that makes the best use of the original texture of the leather.

Sugar Cane & Co. Lot SC15445 / 13.7oz Indigo Nep Denim Work Coat
The 13.7oz. indigo nep denim is made with an 8-count rope indigo warp thread and a 4.5-count gray weft thread with color nep. It has a warm wool-like texture, but because it is made of denim, it will change over time. It is a golden age model with distinctive details such as pre-war button changes, a 3-in-1 pocket on the left chest, and adjustable cuffs.
